Thank you for a brilliant series of very articulate and thought through blog posts. It's very inspiring and at times controversial. Also very useful comments.

I am currently thinking a lot about my own practice and similar questions to those that you pose on this blog come up for me. Recently I've been contemplating the connection between the physical and spiritual practice.
Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

This is really very lovely and interesting. Did you know, Juliana, you are a synethete?! Very cool! (Synesthesia is basically defined as when someone experiences two senses simultaneously, as in music being perceived as "color" as well as sound, for example. Yours is a "personification" synesthesia, where inanimate objects are given personalities. I have the same experience with numbers - since I was little, I have felt numbers have personality and gender. So sweet and lucky that you have it with your asanas!

I've been practicing Ashtanga for about 10 years, ~3x per week, with growth over the entire period. Maybe not the rocket growth of those practicing 6x per week, mostly folks on track to teach, but growth none the less. I question whether daily practice is necessary or even desirable for those just wanting to develop a personal sustainable long term practice, or if it is more likely to lead to burn-out.

Thank you for the interesting perspective and sharing. My teachers were just sharing that if you are bored with the Ashtanga Yoga practice, then you are NOT doing it correctly. Indeed, every (day) practice is never the same, as our body and mind changes daily. In fact Ashtanga Yoga teaches me to be 'flexible' with my practice, to adapt my practice with how my body is feeling. Where is the love? It is within the practice itself! Namaste!
